What Does Grizzly Use?

This is what I use! My sister got me a set like this for Christmas last year, and that's what I've been using ever since to record my podcasts. This is my "official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time." (Jean Sheperd, "A Christmas Story") Want one? Click on the Thingie above. You'll be helping me out, too, natch.

Flash Fiction by my friend Randall Head, entitled "The Meat."  I picked the title, since he didn't have one yet.  Hope he likes it.

Theme: Pachelbel's "Canon in D" by Owen Poteat.

Incidental Music: "Porch Blues" by Kevin MacLeod.

Part 1 -- Shameless Self-Promotion!

Discussing the promos on Bloodthirsty Vegetarians, The Dawn and Drew Show, Hypernonsense, Shawnogram, Inside My Head, Erkpod, Sonitotum and CrimeWAV -- so far.  No shame at all, huh?  Four voice acting roles.  My new Pop filter.

Tune: "Bears in the City," from TR Kelley and "Babes with Axes" from their Live Axe album.

Part 2 -- Exciting New Stories!

A Flash Fiction piece upcoming on "Hiber-Nation," possible Science Fiction, another possible book.  One I'm assembling for Podiobooks.com.

Part 3 -- Grizzly's Giving Page

Nice notes from teachers on recently completed Projects.

Closing Tune: "One Size Fits All," from TR Kelley and "Babes with Axes" from their Live Axe album.

Theme: "Hot Swing," incidental "Continue Life" from Kevin MacLeod.

"The Symbol and the Saint," from "Christmas Tales and Christmas Verse," by Eugene Field, published in 1912.

A very pretty story I found.  I'm using this as an Audio Christmas Card this year.  Don't have much money, but I do have blank CDs!

Best wishes for a joyous holiday season, whatever holiday you celebrate!  And here's to better times in the coming year.

All Music from Kevin MacLeod.

The long awaited Episode 80.  Cue the fireworks.

Part 1 -- Starting at the Beginning

Incoherent rambling about numbers.  Wind thingies.  Popping sounds.  Stuff about having more stuff.  I like Pie.

Part 2 -- Christmas Gifts

I got a nice compliment from Spider Robinson after commenting on his podcast, "Spider on the Web."  I think.  I don't always understand people, though.

Part 3 -- Young Junius

My review of Seth Harwood's new audiobook, on Podiobooks.com, and on his own site.  By the way, Seth's first novel "Jack Wakes Up" will be released on Amazon on May 9, 2009.  You can pre-order, if you'd like...

Amazon: Jack Wakes Up: A Novel

Themes: "Hot Swing" and "Continue Life" from Kevin Macleod.

IDSL Tune: "A Tiger Dancing" from Heiruspecs on Garageband.com, and on their new site

Too bad I'd already done "Gang Aft Agley."

Part 1 -- Best Laid Plans Revisited

Decided I had more to say, and some corrections to my previous review of Terry Fallis' book, "The Best Laid Plans."

Amazon: The Best Laid Plans: A Novel

Part 2 -- Chasing the Bard

My review of Phillipa Ballantine's book, "Chasing the Bard."  Wonder what Pip will think...

Amazon: Chasing the Bard

Part 3 -- A Little Good News

I signed up for this Voice123.com thing, that might get me voiceover work.  And might not.  I might also be in an audioplay, doing some voice acting.  And might not.  Life is so confusing.

And Finally...

IDSL Tune:  "A Statement" from HC Fragile.

Themes: "Hot Swing" and "Continue Life" from Kevin MacLeod.

Part 1 -- It's Not My Job

As of February, my employers are leaving town and I'm losing my job.  And I'm terrible at job hunting.  Still have to do it.  I've added Amazon links for various stuff I've talked about on the show, and maybe that'll help a bit...

Part 2 -- The Best Laid Plans

My review of the Terry Fallis political satire novel.

Amazon: Monarch: The Big Bear of Tallac (Illustrated Edition) (Dodo Press)

Ernest Thompson Seton's book, "Monarch, the Big Bear of Tallac."

Part 16 -- "Landlocked."  The story ends as stories end.  Not with a bang.

Theme: Pachelbel's "Canon in D" performed by Owen Poteat.

Amazon: Monarch: The Big Bear of Tallac (Illustrated Edition) (Dodo Press)

Ernest Thompson Seton's book, "Monarch, the Big Bear of Tallac."

Part 15 -- "The Foaming Flood."  Kellyan and Bonamy set more traps -- but this time with something extra.

Theme: Pachelbel's "Canon in D" performed by Owen Poteat.

Amazon: Monarch: The Big Bear of Tallac (Illustrated Edition) (Dodo Press)

Ernest Thompson Seton's book, "Monarch, the Big Bear of Tallac."

Part 14 -- "The Cataract."  Many Grizzlies acquire a taste for beef and mutton, and make names for themselves.  One becomes the Monarch of the Plain, worth a King's ransom.

Theme: Pachelbel's "Canon in D" performed by Owen Poteat.

Amazon: SPITE (Jonny C Mysteries)

Amazon: Serve It Cold

Part 1 -- Ensemble

Finished Ronnie Blackwell's book, "Spite," in PDF form.  Good book, with a notable "ensemble" cast of characters.  Wouldn't be a Johnnie C Mystery without the whole community.  Lots of ensembles in fiction these days, I think.

Part 2 -- A Very Different Time

Since I can only record what I'm allowed to, I read lots of old stuff.  Some of that old stuff expresses old racial attitudes and stereotypes.  What can I do?

And Finally...

A player of ME!  reading them Seton books on the E.T. Seton Institute's website?  Cool!  Maybe I'm just as good as I claim to be?  Remarkable how humble I remain, ain't it.

Shoutouts to:  Jen & Shawno from "Inside My Head," "Shawnogram," and "Hypernonsense."  Mer from "Braindouche!"  Erk et. al. from the Erkpod Collective.  Rich & John from "Bloodthirsty Vegetarians."

Theme
: "140 Times" from Bob Baldwin & RockOn.
Music: "Continue Life" from Kevin MacLeod

IDSL: "A Promise (Is a Promise)" from [Elsewhere].

Amazon: Monarch: The Big Bear of Tallac (Illustrated Edition) (Dodo Press)

Ernest Thompson Seton's book, "Monarch, the Big Bear of Tallac."

Part 13 -- "The Deepening Channel."  Romance finds Gringo.  Gringo finds revenge.

Theme: Pachelbel's "Canon in D" performed by Owen Poteat.
