Episode 72 -- Out of the Blue Part 1 -- Simplicity

Explaining how I have simplified the webpage.  Still ugly, though.

Part 2 -- Halloween

"Halloween is Awsome," from Shawno of the HyperNonsense podcasts.  Pretty awsome, I think.

Part 3 -- Grizzly's Giving Page

Another Project from the Giving Page, called "Reading is Essential."

Part 4 -- It Doesn't Suck

IDSL Tune: "A Lease on Life" from Justin Trautwein.  Very pretty.

Part 5 -- Stories

About the "Hiber-Nation" feed, and more on Family, and my dreaming of voice-over work, and so on.

And Finally ...

"You Don't Need an iPod," A Podcasting PSA by Uncle Seth, a band out of Canada.  They asked that I "also please idenfity John C. Havens of the About.com Guide To Podcasting as our co-writer."  Done.

Themes: "Hot Swing" intro and "Hammock Fight" outro from Kevin MacLeod.

Hiber-Nation 15 -- A Handy Guide for Beggars Part 1.8 by Vachel Lindsay Amazon: Handy Guide for Beggars, Especially Those of the Poetic Fraternity (Paperbound)

A Handy Guide for Beggars, Especially Those of the Poetic Fraternity, by Vachel Lindsay.

True story.  In 1906, young poet Vachel Lindsay wanders through a dozen states, with no money and no baggage, staying with random strangers, reciting poetry and teaching "The Gospel of Beauty."  So, what do you suppose that was like?  Wonder why this book was popular in the 1960s & '70s?

End of Part 1.8 with "With a Rose, for Brunhilde," and "Lady Iron Heels."

Part 2 should be along shortly.

Music by Kevin MacLeod.

Episode 71 -- Friends and Family in Spite of People For an entire show, I refrain from Singing to myself, or to you.

Part 1 - Spite

My first impressions of the second Jonny C mystery from Ronnie Blackwell, entitled "Spite."  I bought and downloaded a PDF copy from Lulu.com, read a bit.  No promo yet: so there's a promo for the first book in the series, "Serve It Cold."  (And there's a fake promo I put together for "Spite," with music "Matt's Blues" from Kevin MacLeod.  Was fun to do, but I gotta get a pop filter...)

Part 2 - Family

Got reconnected with the other branch of the Smith family, the children of my uncle Dale Marlin Smith.  Looking forward to meeting them, someday.

IDSL Tuneage: "A Gain Again," from Bob Baldwin and Rock On.

Part 3 - Grizzly's Giving Page

Another Project I like -- "I Can Do It, I Know I Can!" -- from DonorsChoose.org.

Part 4 - The People's Choice

Out of 220 Shows finally nominated for The People's Choice Podcast Awards, We weren't.  Maybe next year.  But there are some I listen to on there, check them out for yourself!

And Finally...

That PSA from Nobilis again.  Just for something to think about.  (You might not approve of his show, for that matter.  But you might.)

Theme: "Hammock Fight" from Kevin MacLeod.

Episode 70 -- I'm a Dot Com!!! Now with New and Improved, Shorter intro!  (BTW, you could call this "Infinite Diversity II,"  but I haven't talked to TR lately...)

Part 1 -- The Charles Best email

Discussing the Email I got from the founder of DonorsChoose.org.

"I have a big favor to ask: Would you consider encouraging your readers to
vote for us in the AmEx Members Project? ...

I hope you'll check out the video for our Members Project entry, which might inspire extra enthusiasm for your giving page in the Blogger Challenge.  ... Here's the link to vote for our entry, "Help 100,000 Children Thrive in the Classroom."

Part 2 -- Dot Com Entrepreneur Me

I finally own http://grizzlysgrowls.com !!

MUSIC: "Shades of Grey" from TR Kelley, off the "Starstruck Enterprise" album.

Part 3 -- "Shawno & Grizzly On The Town"

A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer in my pants.  Showbiz is my life, and the show must go on, now mustn't it?

Part 4 -- A little more music

"Unfolding" from TR Kelley & The Raventones, off the "Odd Birds" album.

Part 5 -- Here's another fine project I've gotten you into!

"Mic Check 1,2!  Can you hear me?"  from our Grizzly's Giving Page.

Theme: "Hammock Fight" from Kevin MacLeod.

When I uploaded Episode 69 this morning, I used the wrong filename, and managed to overwrite Epsode 68.  And of course, I'd neglected to archive a copy of that episode on my laptop here, so I have nothing from which to recover it.

Anybody still got a copy of grizz068.mp3, the last show from September?  The file on the website right now is the one overwritten by grizz069.mp3.   If you've got a copy, I'd appreciate getting it back.

Thanks.

Sigh.

FOLLOWUP: Mer from "Braindouche" had the old episode, and found a way to get it to me.  Hopefully, it's All Better Now.

Thanks, Mer!

Episode 69 -- Hnuh Hnuh He Said Sixty-Nine! My "twenty-minute show" is a bit over 40, cause I'm a bit over 50.  You do the math.  It's all about Biorhythms.  Watch a lot of TV on Hulu.  Now they follow me on Twitter -- I think they started it.  Also being followed by Barack Obama.  That one I started, but even so.

Part 1 - Be Like the Bluebird

A stellar -- perhaps, stunning -- a capella performance of the Cole Porter tune from "Anything Goes," sung by me.  HINT:  My nickname is Grizzly, not Pavarotti.

Part 2 - Travel?  Travel?

Shawno from the "Hyper-Nonsense" podcast nominated my Show for the People's Choice Podcast Awards.  As a Travel Podcast.

Part 3 - IDSL: Josh Simmons "A Better Way"

Part 4 - Grizzly's Giving Page

Part 5 - IDSL: David Mau "A Clouded Mirror"

And Finally...

A brief commercial for "Zombinc," which is also a promo for Mur Lafferty's "The Takeover" podcast.  Listen carefully; it actually mentions me, if not by name.

Finishing up with a "Braindouche Public Service Announcement."

Theme: "Hammock Fight" from Kevin MacLeod.

Interview on UTalkin2Me! Just got to listen to an interview with me, on Big JD's "UTalkin2Me" podcast

It's an interview show with folks who do various interesting things with their time.  He did a couple recent shows with interviews with various podcasters like me, had some intelligent questions to ask.  I was (rather surprised to be) pleased with how the interview turned out , though Skype was being contrary, and the audio was pretty bad.

Didn't think I'd interview well.  But I actually sounded reasonably intelligent and articulate.  I encourage you to listen.
